Today we are proud to announce the launch of the brand spankin’ new Zuriick online store. We have been working with Zuriick for a few months now revamping their website. We worked with them to develop a design that is very clean, easy to navigate and a design that puts most of the focus on their product rather than the site itself. About a month back we launched their new homepage and blog, and now their store! These guys make some really great shoes, so I suggest heading over to take a look at their new Spring line.

A few years back I created an account for the website Daytum. Basically Daytum is a website developed by Ryan Case and Nicholas Felton that provides elegant way of tracking and sharing personal statistics. After I created my account I kind of forgot about it and lost track of my statistics. That is until recently when I heard they had released an iPhone app. I believe the iPhone app will be a great addition to the success of this interesting website, and will certainly make it easier for me to track the statistics for my personal account. I have decided to give it another shot. Check out my Daytum page and sign up for one yourself.

Birth began as a simple idea – gather the very talented and skilled people we know and love working with to create one amazing team of creative power. After creating this team properly branding it was important, and the process was a long one. Many hours were spent making sure we got it right, and we are really happy with what we ended up with.

Our Name

Many names were scribbled on napkins, jotted on whiteboards and brainstormed over, but no other name better described our team than Birth. We as a collective group have many things is common, but at the very root of all our personalities we all share the love and desire to create. To take an idea from it’s conception and make it a reality.

Our Logo

The process of designing our logo was a long one. We went through many different looks and many cups of coffee until we got it right. Trial and error are important parts of the design process. More often than not your final design is a result of discovering what you don’t want and what to leave out. The logo to the right is one of our first logo concepts. While I still like the concept, there are many elements to it that just didn’t work. This is a good example of finding out what worked best for us by first exploring concepts that didn’t work and eliminating those elements. In most cases with logo design simple is the key.

The Final Outcome

After a lot of hard work and at times pulling our hair out (yes, that’s normal in any design process) we finally hit the mark with a brand we are very happy with. A look that is fresh and clean but still youthful and fun. Have a look below at our identity summary.
